AMAZING TERIYAKI SALMON


Craving for Japanese food? You don't need to go the restaurant to taste the delicious food of Japanese. You can prepare it at home. Teriyaki Salmon it is a salmon fish that marinated in a healthier teriyaki sauce. Teriyaki is a cooking technique used in Japanese cuisine in which foods are broiled or grilled with a glaze of soy sauce, mirin, and sugar.

I love it so much making my own Teriyaki Salmon at home. It’s so much easier to control the sweetness and the salt level. This sauce is really easy to prepare and is amazing on chicken as well. This is ideal for the whole family dinner. Super easy to prepare and will satisfy your craving.

INGREDIENTS

NOTE: Prep time does not include marinating time

  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 10 salmon filets, skinless
  • 3 garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 7-8 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar
  • 2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 3 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoon water
  • green onions for garnish (optional)
  • sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Add garlic, ginger, soy sauce, ⅛ cup water, and sugar, vinegar and sesame oil to a medium bowl.
  • Add half of the marinade to a zip lock bag and the other half to a small saucepan and set aside.
  • Place salmon filets in the zip lock bag and marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet. Add salmon filets making sure not to overcrowd pan
  • Cook 8-9 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
  • Meanwhile heat the reserved marinade in the saucepan and bring to a simmer.
  • Add cornstarch and water to a small bowl and whisk to combine.
  • Slowly whisk in the cornstarch mixture to the marinade and simmer until thickened.
  • Serve immediately with the teriyaki sauce drizzled on top as well as green onions and sesame seeds for garnish.

 

Serves as a perfect dinner when you are short on time. Serve with sticky rice, vegetables and enjoy!
